Design Portfolio at CU-Boulder

At CU-Boulder
I am the Web Art Director at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the Office of Web Communications, within the Department of University Communications.

Selected Sites
I have worked at CU for over 7 years and have in that time designed or overseen the design of well over two hundred different web sites. Some selected samples of my best work at CU can be seen below:

  • CUConnect, the Student, Faculty, and Staff portal; recently upgraded and redesigned; Now used by over 35,000 students, faculty, and staff
  • ChooseCU, the prospective student portal in less than a year attracted usage by over 98% of prospective students with confirmed enrollment; 2006-2007 CASE VI Grand Gold Award winner
  • Executive MBA, dynamic site featuring rotating flash highlights throughout the site; 2005-2006 CASE VI Grand Gold Award winner
  • Web Central, example of one of four templates designed for CU-Boulder; Also web development resource site for campus developers.
  • Research & Graduate Education, three integrated sites including the Graduate School and Vice Chancellor of Research
  • Chemical & Biological Engineering, features scientific images from faculty research as an integral part of the site design
  • Beza Mahafaly Lemur Biology Project, site featuring video and photo slideshows to teach K-12 and collegiate audiences about the international renown research project; 2005-2006 CASE VI Bronze Award winner
  • AROTC, small departmental site that pulls in daily updated RSS feeds and images from the Army site (www.army.mil).

A few presentations are listed below with links to accompanying training materials/ slideshows. (Since the presentations are designed to compliment an oral presentation, the materials below may give an incomplete picture of the topics presented.)

Print Design
The CU-Boulder Office of University Communications has designers who exclusively focus on designing print materials. However I have recommenced my background in print design on occasion for projects corresponding to web sites I am working on. The following are a few print pieces I have designed at CU. Additional design samples from outside of CU can also be provided.
